Unknown Kyrgyzstan – to the headsprings of the great river Naryn

Best time: July – beginning of September

Activity: Exploring expedition

Duration: 21 days

 Day 1. Arrival to Bishkek. Meeting at the airport, transfer to hotel, accommodation. Small excursion around the city. Getting ready to the program and equipment check. Meeting with the guide and program discussion. (B/L/-)

 Day 2. Transfer to Kegeti gorge (90km), Radial acclimatizing trek to Kyol-Tor alke (2725 m). Coming back to the camp (12 km). Overnight in tents on the height of 1870 m above the sea level. (B/L/D).

 Day 3. Transfer Kegety gorge – Kochkorka village – Sary-Bulak village, merger of Kichi-Naryn and Kara-Kaman (420 km – about 8 hours). Camp in the valley of Kichine Kara-Kaman river. Overnight in tents on the height of 3100 m. (B/L/D)

Day 4. Trek up along the valleys of Kara-Kaman and Ichke-Tor rivers in direction of nameless pass (3727 m). Smooth ascent from 3100m up to 3720 m then the descent to the level of 3500 m. We will put our camp in the beautiful place on the shore of Teshik-Kyol lake (3504 m, 18 km). Overnight in tents. This evening we will not have car supply and you have to be prepared to carry all your things, tents, one day food and some dishes by your own. (B/L/D)

Day 5. Short descent down to Djili-Suu valley, meet our transport. Short transfer to the place of our next camp. Overnight in tents on the height of 2950 m. (B/L/D)

Day 6. This day you may climb on a nameless peak (4342 m), but this climbing will take you about 8-9 hours. The view from the summit is amazing. On the east you will be able to see the beautiful valley of Burkan river which will be our aim for tomorrow. On the north, south and west we are surrounded by the majestic Tian-Shan mountain ridges. Coming back to the camp. Overnight in tents (B/L/D)

Day 7. Transfer to the merger of Burkan and Egiz-Tor rivers (60 km). Here we will put our base-camp where we will spend our next three nights. The height is 3330 m. (B/L/D)

Days  8-9. Next two days we will devote to the exploration of the region and to the climbing. This part of the program is free. You may have little walks or climb the surrounding peaks on Terskei and Djetim-Bel ridges (all the summits are higher than 4100 m). The summits you may choose yourself.. Overnight in tents (B/L/D)

 Day 10. Circle trek with the entrance to Ara-Bel plateau where you will be able to enjoy the great panorama of the valley itself with its innumerous small lakes. From the plateau you will see many amazing peaks and will have a chance to choose the ones you would like to conquer in the next 3 days. Descent from the plateau to the headwaters of Burkan river where we will put our base-camp. All the distance we will have to make today is about 16-18km and will have to ascend the height of 4000 m above the sea level. Overnight in tents on the height of 3600 m. (B/L/D) 

Day 11. The rest day at the base-camp and the preparation for summits’ climbing which you will pick up by yourself. (B/L/D)

Days 12-14. These days you have a free program. You may have an ice climbing training on the closest glacier and climb some peaks on Djetim-Bel ridge. For the climbing you will need: rope, crampons, ice axe and of course your skills. All peaks are over 4200 m high. For those who doesn’t like to conquer mountain summits we may offer to have one day radial treks and small ascents. Overnight in the base-camp at the same place in tents (B/L/D)

Day 15. Hike over Djetim-Bel ridge to the Ekurgen-Kyol lake over Sary-Tyor pass (4050 m) Overnight in tents a little below the lake on the height of 3550 m. (B/L/D)

Day 16. Exploration of the surroundings. Today you will have a chance to make a circle hike around the nameless lakes or ascend to a panoramic flat on the height of 4050 m. Overnight in tents (B/L/D)

Day 17. Transfer to Ara-Bel valley over Soyol pass (4021 m) and then into Chon-Tor valley (52 km, 3-4 hours). Camp on the shore of Chon-Tor lake (3700 m). Overnight in tents (B/L/D)

 Day 18. Hike to the Djuuka valley over the same names pass (3633m). Our transport will wait for us at the Djuuka valley. This part is not hard, the path after the pass goes only down twirling along the gorge. The distance we will have to make today is about 15 km which will take us about 7 hours. Then we will be transferred down to the place of our camp. Overnight in a beautiful place in tents on the bank of the river on the height of 2500 m. (B/L/D)

Day 19. Transfer to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake to Tamga village. Rest on the shore. Overnight in guest house (B/L/D)

Day 20. After lunch we will be transferred to Bishkek (300 km), on the way we will visit “Fairytale” canyon. Overnight in the hotel, Farewell dinner (B/L/D)

Day 21. Transfer to the airport. Departure (B/-/-)

Price:

6-10 people – From $2090  per person [Request price for less than 6 persons]

+ $166. – single supplement
